Hello Gimpers, I hope to become one of you one day. Oh yes, I have GIMP and it's ready to go but I have nooooo idea how to use it. That is where you come in, yes you! I am looking for a teacher! Nothing major, maybe just someone to run me through the basic and give me little assignments that I have to fulfill to improve my currently non-existing skills.
You think you are up for it? If you are then I would love you forever. We could just do it through PM or if you have AIM or something. I have the newest Mac OS X version if that makes a different.
Thank you! [/blockquote]

ILY. I've got a Mac and GIMP. xD
ANYWHO. I'm not that super-fantastic, but it's really not that hard at all once you know where to find everything. See, I've never used Photoshop or whatever, so my Photoshop-using-friend was trying to help me figure out GIMP. Needless to say, it took a while. I think the most important thing is to remember to keep the layers toolbox open. So... just control+l and it should be there. Aaaaaand ... you don't use the apple command button, you have to use control. It's to the left of option, it took me a while to figure that out. I was like "-presses command+p- ....... -presses again- ...... -recopies, opens GIMP again, command+p- ..... DDDD8" so don't make that mistake. xD
When you paste something, always click Layer-->new layer or it'll attach the pasted image to the top layer, and then you want to kill the stupid program. xD THAT one took me a while to figure out as well. Not too bright sometimes, am I? Hm. I hate the text-adding-whatever for GIMP, so I use Preview (a Mac program that I use if I don't feel like waiting for GIMP to open, but it's not nearly as good. You can't do as much but for quick little things that it's capable of, trust me, use Preview. It's simpler and quicker) or, if I don't want the text to be horizontal, Picnik.
Yeah. That's all I can think of right now.
